<div>The question asked in the subject line is kind of a method I have for judging my graphic design work as well as forming opinions about other examples I see. <br/> <br/>Some logotypes, signatures, brands, whatever you want to call them, work great in all kinds of places. Gigantic on the side of a building, lit up in neon or Scotchprinted onto a billboard. Or very tiny near the bottom margin of the page. At times, I think some logos were designed with those various purposes in mind while others are doomed to only be serviceable in the cluttered phone book ad they call home. <br/> <br/>What places do you see your logos being used? Here's a quick brief to help understand the project: <br/> <br/>Client provides a value priced package of services to turn around a property and make it ready to rent or sell quickly. <br/> <br/>Target audience are middle and working class who don't have the time or energy to prepare a property (in time) for rent or sale. The list of services provided is very comprehensive, but basically it's anything that needs to get done in order to both improve the property's value as well as meet inspection and/or health and safety requirements. <br/> <br/>The client needs a complete identity system including website. <div>Has anyone seen the [apparently recently redesigned] 'Primetime Thursday' logo on NBC? I was relatively amazed. It is done in an almost unreadable font that is skewed in faux italics to the point of looking bent. I am not impressed with the design prowess of multibillion dollar corporations in this case.
